Australia: Detained Refugees look to courts for Covid-19 Protection

The Human Rights Law Centre has filed a legal challenge in the High Court on behalf of refugees detained in Australia to protect them from Corona. A number of them have underlying health conditions and the cramped living conditions make the practice of social distancing near impossible. Refugees are being punished despite 9900 members of “I have a room” who could accommodate those immigrants in detention and many fear speaking out about their living conditions.
