Japan and Thailand: Refugee Aid from Japan’s Contribution of 450,000 USD to Thailand for the Prevention of COVID-19

The Government of Japan’s contribution of 450,000 USD to Thailand in aid of preventing COVID-19 is welcomed by the UN Refugee Agency.  The UNHCR Representative of Thailand states that this contribution will “allow UNHCR to share information on hygiene measures with displace persons in urban areas” and will “go towards providing support to the most vulnerable individual cases of displaced persons allowing them to meet some of their basic needs and contribute to overall social stability in urban areas in Thailand.”

Japan’s contribution to Thailand is part of the 23.9 million USD donations to several countries in the Asia Pacific, Middle East and North Africa to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
